Day Ribbon

Day Ribbon
First Annual Wear a Rainbow Ribbon for SSG Lieb Day?

Everyone If there was a day set aside for a American soldier who has put his heart into defending this nation would you wear a rainbow ribbon for him? If so in February 7th please wear a Rainbow Ribbon for SSG Lieb of the United States army for all his dedicated service.
No reason for therainbow ribbon. Just thought it fit him well

This day of observance already exists. It is called “Armed Forces Day.” It is celebrated on the third Saturday in May near the end of Armed Forces Week. Armed Forces Day seeks to honor active and reserve soldiers and sailors in the United States armed services (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard).

This day complements the other armed service days of observation. Veteran’s Day honors former members of the armed services. Memorial Day honors service men and women who have lost their lives in service to our country.

I do believe that we should honor all service men and women alive or dead, active or retired every day of every year. I recommend that you consider using the yellow ribbon instead of a rainbow ribbon. The yellow ribbon is traditionally associated with supporting our troops. The rainbow flag and various rainbow symbols are internationally associated with gay and lesbian rights movements and pride.

If you wish to show support for a loved that is currently deployed, I recommend that you investigate the service flag or service banner described in the third link.
