What is a creative way to rescue a small flower garden my landscaper mowed down by mistake?

I am dismayed. My father passed away, and while I have been busy in the other part of the state, I left my trusted landscaper to mow the lawn and trim the bushes. I have a very small flower garden in front of the house, in the strip between sidewalk and street. Daisies, Echinacea, phlox, lily of the valley and cornflower are some of the blossoms that were there. I asked him (in writing) to remove grasses and woody weeds, but to leave all the flowers. Well, he said that 90% of it was weeds (not true) and a neighbor complained about it, so he mowed it flat to the ground! I am still in a state of shock.
How can I best remedy this so it doesn’t depress me. If I put in new plants, I am not there every day to water, which is a concern with new plants. But I miss my bouquets of daisies et al. And I want some visual there that will just make me feel better at a time of loss.
Any thoughts, ideas?

I think many of them will regenerate. Plants get eaten by animals all the time. It’s sort of like pruning. Wait a month and see what’s coming back.
