who out there thinks the pitbull is a wonderfull and pretty breed?

I see way too much against these dogs, I work at a large dog pound and they have unfortunately put down hundreds of pits, these dogs are always the easiest to handle, and soooo people friendly. I have seen them come in so many colors no other breed can come in, the most unusal was a dog with a creamy tan body with dark red merle and white, also white dogs with brown and cream merle markings. Why would anyone want to ban a breed thats soo colorful and trusting

my son has two of them very good dogs raised with children .i too work in animal rescue and shelters everywhere seem to be over full with them but it depends on breeding whether dog is right sometimes unfortunately some of these back yard breeders over breed and they interbreed thus like anything mess with gene pool you get a mess but on other hand stuppid owners make stupid irresponsible dogs .what is making it really bad in owning them now is insurance companies on multihousing units like apartments , trailer parks ans some associations ban the breed from coverage so when owner has to move to one of these places they are usually forced to surrender the dog and thus overcrowded shelters with breeds like pitts and rotts and chows etc . media hype has help feed the breed selection dog frenzy so much for age of information sometimes we get more than we need to know and people are basing their knowlege on popular so called politically correct information i believe there are no stupid dogs . and dangerous well if i own a gun i will not leave it where it can harm someone or shoot someone for sport .same goes with any dog that is protective of owner and puppies you do not as responsible owner put that dog in the loaded gun position you treat it with responsible and diligent care and love sorry about soap box but every attack i ahve heard about dog was exposed to child not used to children hell some small ankle biter breeds hate kids but you do not see them breed selected as dangerous and roaming dogs due to irresponsible owners . it all boils down to how the owner cares for dog
