Craft Ribbon
Craft question. Braiding christmas ribbon into shapes?
Oh, or should I braid around a wire and then just move it into shape? Would THAT work?
I want to braid christmas ribbon like a lanyard ( like here http://www.laneyards.com/2008/10/circle-stitch.html ) and make it into a heart shape. But I’m not sure how I would do it 
Someone suggested I just make it long and then bend it into shape and hairspray it. But I’m not sure if it would hold??
I was wondering if I shaped it and used a hot glue gun, would it work, or would it just come out of shape? And would it be visible or damage the ribbon?
If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be eternally grateful.

How about using florists wire, which is very thin, or use long pipe cleaners, if you want a thicker look. Both are light weight and easily bendable..You could wrap your ribbons around the wire and then just put clear drying glue on a bit of the ribbon end pieces to hold them onto the wire once you get the shape you want. Your local craft store may also carry some thicker bendable wires that are used in various craft projects, also, but those are the two that first come to mind.
