Dream Big With Miniature Doll Houses With Furniture

My wife was viewing a favorite design show recently when suddenly something caught my attention.  The host was using miniature doll houses with furniture to help her customers figure out the furniture styles that would function best for them.  What a wonderful way to take advantage of the selection of miniatures available.

In this computer age, decorators turn to sophisticated computer software programs to communicate their style suggestions with their customers.  The old way required hours of drawing in hopes that the customer would be satisfied with the suggestion.  Most frequently, changes would have to be created.  As the old expression goes, “back to the drawing board.”  Computers make the drawing procedure and customer interaction faster and easier.

People today like visual representations to help them make decorating decisions.  That’s why I was so impressed with the use of miniature doll house furniture.  Right there before them were replicas of many furniture items and just by scanning through the assortment they were ready to quickly arrive at a preference.

Then the decorator was able to explain how furniture pieces, cloth, colours, and flooring interacted with one another.  More importantly, the clients were quick to grasp the differences.  

Finally, following the visual demonstration with miniatures the designer put together a computer created conceptualization.  As a result her customers were comfortable with the style method, excited about their choice, and well prepared for the final result.  To complete a project and then have the customer shocked by the outcome is a designer’s nightmare.  This extra step of customer preparation maximizes the likelihood of buyer contentment.

If you are unfamiliar with what is available with doll house furnishings you are truly missing out on something extraordinarily special.  The massive popularity of the craft has inspired producers to duplicate in miniature just about anything that can be found in the life-sized market.  The craftsmanship and detail is remarkable.

What this means to you is that you can use the world of miniature to conceptualize your dream home.  Assemble the items of greatest interest to you and see how they interact with one another.  Don’t leave the final result to chance but give yourself sufficient time to get the most bang for your buck.

Having difficulty getting your husband to buy into your idea…or for that matter, even pay attention to your desire?  Then buy some miniature pieces and help him to get used to the idea.  To really draw him into the undertaking include some pieces that you believe he would get excited about.

Who knows?  You just might get hooked on a very well-liked adult hobby.  At the very minimum you will be a hero with your little girl or granddaughter.  More importantly, you will have averted the costly error of a bad decorating design.

Dreams have a way of coming true when we keep them before us.  The more we can see it the greater the probability that it will turn into a reality.  Get to work on developing and crystallizing your decorating vision with miniature doll houses with furniture.
