why are assembled computers so much cheaper?

i have read in economics that products made in large factories using division of labour yield cheaper products.Hand made cloth items..specially crafted rolls royce are expensive..why is it the opposite for computers?
are the big brands making too much money?

As many people here explained in detail, its the brand name that sells. Afterall, these big companies like Dell, Lenovo, HP too want to earn. They advertise more, so people think we’ll buy a Dell PC, but they don’t see that they are paying extra/more for it. Another thing you’ll note in branded PC’s is that they use a cheap chipset or outdated chipset.

I say, assembled PC rocks.
