How do I get off stuck laptop lock?

So, I have one of those laptop locks that drills into the wall and then a cord connects it to a combination device that locks into the lock area of my laptop. The problem is that when I went to take it off tonight the button won’t go all the way down so that the lock will come free. I’m absolutely positive I’m using the right combo. It seems like the lock is jammed. Help!!!
