Christmas Unwired

I’m decorating my Christmas tree with ribbon…how many feet/yards of ribbon do I need?

The tree is 7.5 feet tall and at its greatest width at the lowest branches it 54 inches. How much ribbon would i need to decorate it from the top to the bottom? Im not making a bow at the top or any where along the length and plan on laying it diagonally. How much ribbon would be required? And also I’ve heard wire ribbon is much better to use then unwired… is that true?

I have both wire and organza ribbon on my tree. The only thing with the wire is straightening it out for the following year.
How I figured mine out was by looking on garland. Some state how many feet of the garland will cover the tree. So I figured the amount of garland (in feet) would be needed and I that is how many yards of ribbon I bought and I also got a couple extra rolls of ribbon.
