How can you tell the difference from a chicken and a rooster?

i heard from my friends that chickens are more rounder… is that true?

A chicken is a chicken, no matter which sex it is. Male chickens are called roosters or cockerals, young female chickens are often called pullets, and mature laying-age female chickens are called hens, baby chickens are called chicks.
Within any one breed, yes, the hen (female) is usually more round bodied than the rooster (male). However, that isn’t neccesariyl so of hens and roosters across the board. A rooster of a plumper rounder breed may be more rounded thant either a hen or rooster of a lightweight Bantam breed.

A rooster generally carries is his bodt in a more upright poistion than a hen, the head and neck also carried more upright. A rooster generally has a larger and more pronounced comb, crest and wattles (2 flaps that hang downward on the hear) than a hen of the same breed, but again, some breeds have overall larger or smaller comb, crest and wattles.

Roosters used for cock fighting, however, have often had a large part of their comb, crest, and wattles cut away when very young, since they are vulnerable to injury and excessive blood loss when fighting.

Roosters also usually devlope ‘spurs’, and extra toe with a long sharp toenail, above the foot on the inside of their legs, though in some breeds a hen has them too, but it will be smaller and shorter. This ‘toe’ is well up the leg, and does not touch the ground, is used as a defensive or offensive weapon.
