Pretty In Pink Wedding Color Schemes
Pink is the perennial favourite when it comes to wedding colors and whilst pale pink is often the preferred choice of most brides, there is a rising number choosing more vibrant shades for a wedding color scheme which is more personal. Pink is a lovely color to with for weddings as it can evoke romance, femininity and that vintage feel. Check out these three pink wedding color scheme ideas for your wedding day.
Pale Pink, Cream and Champagne:
This is a color combination that appears at many a wedding, but most will have pink in abundance and dominating the other two colors. Here I would suggest going for a ‘barely there’ approach and use the very palest pink you can get away with. The picture of the wedding cake in the top left hand corner of the set is the perfect example of what I am talking about. The cake itself features cream and champagne shades and the flower on the top looks as though it has just been ‘washed’ with color adding just a hint of pink.
This scheme has a vintage feel whilst not being overly feminine, so it is sure to appeal to your other half! Add details with slubby dupion silks, grosgrain ribbons and vintage lace.
Fuchsia, Candy and Pale Pink:
Ordinarily you would not think to use three shades of the same color throughout, but these three together create a wonderfully vibrant scheme with a touch of romance. Collectively you may think they would be too overpowering and would create a wedding color scheme which would clash violently, but if you get the percentages right then these three shades of pink actually enhance each other creating a very girly scheme.
You can use one shade more dominantly than the others and apply the other two carefully to highlight the smaller details, for instance use pale pink as the main color on your invitations but make your text stand out by having it printed in fuchsia pink. If you want to tone down the vibrancy then use white as a background foil, such as table cloths or even just the white walls of a marquee.
Rose Pink, White and Duck Egg Blue:
For a typically vintage feeling theme then these three colors combine beautifully. Think florals, lace and tea parties when planning your theme using these colors. Whimsical touches like ribbons, birds and floral prints are easily found in these shades especially as they become more popular for weddings. Roses, cupcakes and mismatched vintage china all combine well to make this a perfect choice for any wedding day.
Or if you want a slightly different look from the English tea scheme, then go for an oriental feel instead. Cherry blossom, orchids and eye catching prints work well with these colors providing a very elegant feel. All that’s left are some fortune cookies for your wedding favors!
