What do men wear in Valencia, Spain?

I will be studying this summer in Valencia, Spain, and I was wondering what the typical clothing is for the summer months. Typically, I wear polo shirts with khaki or blue shorts, but is that too american/tourist? What about check/plaid lightweight buttonups? As for shoes, should I plan on flipflops or go for a dressier shoe for going out? Any help is appreciated.

I’m a teenager in the city, I’ve lived here nearly a year, and yeh you can point out a tourist by the way they dress. Personally, I’m a guy who wears skinny (girl) pants but then so do lots of my guy friends. It’s personal preference, but I reccomend that you pack an empty suitcase and get you’re clothes from the following male highstreet shops: Pull and Bear (very good), Zara, HnM(very good), SkateWorld (there are too of these in Valencia, just ask “Donde esta Skateworld?” and someone will direct you.) Also, try looking round “El Barrio Del Carmen” or “El Carmen” there are lots of shops there, but you should see many on the main street “Colón”. “El Corte Ingles” can do some good clothes, but it’s well expensive. Polo Shirts are cool, but theres a particular pattern here, you’ll see it straight away. Also, the majority of the men( aged 14-35) wax/shave their legsx here, and the women prefer it.

Hope this helps.
