What’s the best way to get to Monkey Face cay, Guanacaste, Costa Rica?

I’m backpacking Costa Rica this May 2011 and I want to hang out on Monkey Face Cay, maybe sleep overnight (yes, I know it’s probably not allowed), but I’d like to at least check it out. Any help is appreciated.

As far as I know it’s only reachable by boat. Most small boats (pangas) are operated by locals out of Playa del Coco, usually to go to Witch’s Rock for surf trips.
