Burgundy Sheer
WHAT COLOR CAN I PAINT MY ROOM?

I am moving into a new place, and the bedroom color is a burgundy red, and I’m not big on red, so I was wonderind any ideas on what to color the room? I have a pink and white/tan bedsheets and comforter. I also plan on getting sheer white curtains to brighten up the room to make it look bigger. Any ideas on the wall color?? Thanks!!

I wouldn’t paint the room pink or white. Pink limits you as to what styles and colors you will be able to use. Chances are you’ll have the bedroom wall color long after the pink and white and tan bedding has been discarded. You’ll either wear it out or get tired of it and want to change it out.
White walls are too stark and boring unless you have a room designed around them, so add a little color and warmth. If you like grey, as some suggested, I would go with a very pale grey. Very light. Otherwise, it’s going to appear too dark and heavy, like a dismal, rainy day, especially if you don’t have a lot of natural light.
I’d go with a neutral in a warm, creamy deep ivory, or light beige. Think coffee with lots of cream – that pale, rich color that’s so pretty and inviting. There are hundreds of colors to choose from. Don’t choose a “muddy” shade, or one with gray undertones. Make sure it is pale and creamy. I’d use a satin finish – not a high gloss or a matte. When you have a neutral backdrop, you can use any color and design, and it will work.
If you don’t like this idea, you might consider a pale, pale yellow or any icy, icy blue – a white with just a hint of blue. These are good neutrals as well.
