How much difference does it make if a bean bag (plus dog) is in front of your heater?

Sounds rediculous I know! My housemate puts a huge bean bag in front of our fan assisted heater so her dog can stay warm. I was just wondering if this stops the heat from circulating (does the bag soak up some of the heat) or does it aid the heating process (does it stop the heat goin through the wooden floorboards and therefore helps to heat the house). This is just something I want to know
Any suggestions welcome…..

Always remember that heat rises. Yes the bean bag will soak up some of the heat at first and when it has it will help warm the room.
