What are the advantages and disadvantages of acid-free paper?

The main advantage of acid-free paper is that it doesn’t degrade over long periods of time. That is a problem libraries face when preserving ancient documents that were acidic.

There really aren’t many disadvantages to using acid-free paper instead of other paper. It does use chalk to produce instead of china clay, but that tradeoff is actually cheaper.
